After restrictions relating to COVID-19 pandemic came into force, NLHSG were unable to present their Annual Safety Awards at the usual celebration event however the committee still encouraged entries from businesses around the region to recognise their health and safety perfomance and improvements whilst working within the difficult constraints that the pandemic caused.
Overall, there were 11 entries for the Annual Safety Award which is presented to organisations that had a better incident rate than their sector average reported through RIDDOR.
The following organisations were recipients of the Annual Safety Award:
- BJW Cranes Ltd.
- Cubet Ltd.
- GMB – North Lincs Unitary Branch S30
- Holme Steel Fabricators Ltd.
- LAS Metals Ltd.
- Omni-Pac / MFP
- OSI Food Solutions
- PD Ports
- Precision Stevedores
- RMS Ports Group
- Techcrete
In addition to the above, NLHSG received 3 entries for the Outstanding Achievement Award in Health and Safety. All entries received were to a high standard and the independent judging panel found it difficult to select the winner of the award, however after much careful deliberation OSI Food Solutions Ltd were selected as the winner of the category.
Awards were presented to the organisations that attended the presentation at North Lindsey College on 7th April.
